Stenungsund, Sweden Site

The Stenungsund site is located on Sweden’s west coast.

It produces ethylene oxide, a base ingredient for around 300 end-products, including nonionic surfactants, cellulose derivatives, ethanol and ethylene amines. A major investment during 1997 resulted in a new ethylene oxide plant with an annual production of 70,000 tonnes.

In addition, two plants for speciality surfactant products were upgraded during 2000 and resulted in a production unit supplying a broad range of surfactants. One of the plants has a full-scale production of sugar-based surfactants.

Stenungsund also produces ethanolamines, ethylene amines and ethylene amine derivatives.

The Stenungsund plants are ISO 9002 and 14001 certified.
